Berklee College of Music

CAVT partnered with Berklee College of Music to standardize and modernize AV systems across its Boston campus. Spanning 16 buildings and nearly 100 learning spaces, the initiative focused on replacing inconsistent, aging classroom technology with a unified, centrally managed platform.
The goal was simple: reduce technical friction for faculty while giving the technology team better visibility, control, and long-term scalability.
Berklee’s campus spans a one-mile radius in an urban environment, with a wide range of room types and legacy AV systems. Faculty relied heavily on classroom technology, yet inconsistent designs and aging equipment created support challenges and high ticket volume.
The institution needed a scalable solution that could unify its infrastructure while remaining flexible enough to support varied instructional formats and performance-based learning environments.
Phased Deployment Strategy
The project began with a large pilot phase before expanding campus-wide. Processing cores and network video endpoints were deployed to support integrated audio, video, and control across 97 spaces.
Unified Control Experience
CAVT customized the user control interface based on direct faculty feedback, creating a consistent and intuitive experience across all room types. This reduced setup time and improved confidence in classroom technology.
Centralized Monitoring & Management
Using enterprise monitoring tools, Berklee’s support team can now view real-time system health across campus. Remote diagnostics allow issues to be identified and resolved quickly, often before faculty report a problem.
Integrated Help Desk Workflow
CAVT worked with Berklee to enhance the classroom help request process by integrating system controls directly with their ticketing platform. The updated workflow reduces duplicate tickets, adds confirmation layers, and improves service accuracy.
Berklee now operates a unified AV infrastructure across nearly 100 learning spaces, significantly reducing support volume and improving response times. Faculty benefit from consistent, easy-to-use classroom systems, while the technology team gains proactive monitoring and centralized control across a distributed campus.
The result is a scalable, future-ready AV platform that supports Berklee’s commitment to innovation in music and performing arts education.
