Campus Hybrid Learning Technology Deployment

Client:

Babson College

Location:

Wellesley, MA

CAVT partnered with Babson College to design and implement intelligent video classroom environments that support hybrid learning across campus. The initiative focused on creating a consistent, high-quality experience for both in-person and remote participants while ensuring systems remained simple for faculty to operate day to day.

- The Challenge

As hybrid learning adoption accelerated, Babson needed to rapidly scale beyond a small number of test classrooms to dozens of spaces across campus. The solution had to maintain production-level video quality while remaining intuitive for faculty, many of whom were teaching simultaneously to in-person and remote audiences.

Additionally, classrooms originally designed for full in-person attendance had to support reduced occupancy while still delivering an engaging experience for students participating remotely.

- The Solution

The Solution

CAVT worked closely with Babson’s IT and instructional technology teams to deploy standardized intelligent video solutions built around automated camera tracking and integrated AV control.

Intelligent Video Systems

Classrooms were equipped with automated multi-camera solutions that dynamically switch views based on who is speaking, allowing remote participants to clearly follow classroom discussions without manual intervention.

Camera & Audio Integration

PTZ cameras and presenter-tracking technology provide clear close-ups of instructors and students, ensuring remote attendees can see and hear interactions naturally.

AV Switching & Control

Integrated switching and touch-panel control provide simple system operation, enabling faculty to start classes quickly without technical assistance while maintaining flexibility to support varied teaching styles.

Scalable Deployment

Following successful pilots, the standardized design was expanded to nearly 50 classrooms, creating a consistent hybrid learning environment across campus.

- The Result

The completed deployment gives Babson a reliable and scalable hybrid learning platform that supports both synchronous and recorded instruction. Faculty can teach naturally while remote students remain fully engaged, with clear visuals and audio regardless of where they are located.

By standardizing intelligent video classrooms across campus, Babson is positioned to support evolving teaching models while maintaining a consistent user experience for students and instructors alike.
