Project Overview
The professional AV industry is full of innovation — products that solve real problems, technologies that transform how people communicate, collaborate, and experience the world. But too often, that innovation stays siloed. Manufacturers struggle to reach the vertical markets that could benefit most from their solutions, while integrators and end users don’t always know what’s available or how it applies to their specific environment. CAVT built “Plugged In with CAVT” to change that.
The result is “Plugged In with CAVT,” a free, studio-based video platform that gives manufacturers direct access to markets they may never have reached otherwise, while giving integrators, end users, and industry professionals the real-world product knowledge they need to make better decisions. It’s not about promoting any single company — it’s about building a stronger, more informed AV industry for everyone.
The Vision
There’s a persistent gap in the AV industry between the people making the technology and the people who need it most. A manufacturer might have a product perfectly suited for a healthcare facility, a house of worship, or a K–12 classroom — but if those end users don’t know the product exists, or don’t understand how it applies to their environment, that connection never happens. Meanwhile, integrators are expected to stay current on an ever-expanding universe of products, often without a dedicated resource to help them go deeper. CAVT sits at the center of this ecosystem every day, working across manufacturers, integrators, and end users. We recognized that position as an opportunity — not just to sell, but to educate, connect, and grow the industry as a whole.
The platform is built around four core goals:
- Giving manufacturers a free platform to reach new verticals that may not be in their traditional sales channel
- Acting as an intermediary between the market and manufacturers to deepen knowledge on both sides
- Helping integrators and end users make more informed decisions through practical, real-world product knowledge
- Growing the AV industry by elevating product awareness and professional knowledge across the entire ecosystem
The Solution
To make this vision real, CAVT invested in building a professional production environment from the ground up. Drawing on deep product knowledge built over years of hands-on integration work, the team carefully selected a broadcast-grade audio and video setup — including acoustic treatment, lavalier microphones, a professional mixing board, and production software — designed to deliver the kind of quality that reflects well on every manufacturer and guest who walks through the door. The studio isn’t just a backdrop. It’s a statement that this industry deserves a platform built to a professional standard.

The office renovation included:
- Dedicated interview set and seating area
- Professional video capture setup for multi-camera recording
- Studio lighting optimized for interviews and product demonstrations
- Broadcast-quality microphones for clear dialogue capture
Launch of “Plugged In with CAVT”
The studio debuted with the launch of Plugged In with CAVT, an ongoing video series focused on the people and technologies driving the professional AV industry forward. Every episode is offered completely free — no paywalls, no subscriptions. The goal is access: getting the right information in front of the right people, whether that’s a systems integrator evaluating amplifiers, a facilities manager researching conferencing solutions, or a manufacturer looking to introduce a new product to a vertical they haven’t tapped yet.
The first episode launched on March 26, featuring Rob Howitt from Powersoft, who sat down to discuss the evolving landscape of professional audio technology and the trends shaping the market. It was exactly the kind of conversation the platform was designed for: an expert sharing genuine insight, freely available to anyone in the industry who can use it.
Future episodes are already in production with additional manufacturers and industry partners, including Yealink, with more to be announced. Each episode will continue the series’ focus on reaching underserved markets, deepening product understanding, and strengthening the connections that help this industry grow.
